Breeding
A cave spawner in which the male guards eggs in a tight cave. Captive breeding is uncommon and needs very warm, well-oxygenated, soft water with strong flow.
Good to know
Needs high oxygen and strong current at warm temperatures, and can be territorial towards other plecos. Brazil restricts export of some Xingu loricariids, so wild stock may be scarce.
