A small, slim dottyback from Western Australian reefs, usually greyish brown with yellow fins edged in blue. It is hardy, full of character and spends its time darting among rockwork, which makes it a good choice for a reef tank.

Breeding
Males guard a ball of eggs in a cave until they hatch after a few days. Pairs have been spawned in captivity, but raising the tiny larvae on rotifers is hard.
Good to know
Like most dottybacks it is territorial and may pick on small, peaceful fish or other dottybacks, so put it in last and give it plenty of rock caves. It is rarely seen in the trade, so check the identification carefully.
