Breeding
Pairs scatter buoyant egg masses in open water after courtship at dusk, and the larvae spend a long time in the plankton. It has seldom been bred in home aquariums and is very hard to raise.
Good to know
The fin spines are venomous and a sting is very painful, so handle with care and keep hot water to hand for first aid. It will eat any fish or shrimp small enough to swallow, so choose tankmates that are larger.
