Fisher's Angelfish is one of the smallest dwarf angels, with an orange to yellow body, a darker rear section and a blue edge to the fins. It is kept for its bright colour and small size, which suits medium reef and fish-only tanks with plenty of live rock to graze.

Breeding

Like other dwarf angels it lives in harems and is a protogynous hermaphrodite, so females can turn into males. Pairs spawn at dusk and release floating eggs, but raising the tiny larvae in captivity is very difficult and rarely achieved.

Good to know

It may nip at clam mantles, soft corals and large-polyp stony corals, so add it to a reef with care. Do not keep it with other dwarf angels unless the tank is large, because they will fight.
