Breeding
Males claim small territories among plants and display to females, with eggs scattered or laid in cover and given little parental care. Breeding is fairly easy in a heavily planted species tank, but the very small fry need infusoria and microworms.
Good to know
Males can be territorial with each other, so give plenty of cover, and avoid fast or large tankmates that will outcompete it for live food. Rarely traded and easily confused with Dario dario or D. hysginon.
