Breeding
It scatters eggs and gives no parental care. There are few or no reliable reports of it spawning in home aquariums, so the fish on sale are caught in the wild.
Good to know
It grows large, is a powerful jumper and is easily stressed, so give it a long tank with a tight lid and plenty of open swimming room. It may eat very small tankmates, and it needs clean, well-oxygenated water with good current.
