Breeding
An egg scatterer that gives no parental care and will eat its own eggs. Spawning is fairly easy in a separate tank with fine-leaved plants or mesh over the base, with the adults taken out once the eggs are laid.
Good to know
It is very active and fast, so it needs a long tank with a tight lid and can unsettle slow or long-finned tankmates. Much of the stock sold under this name may be mislabelled, as it is often confused with Devario malabaricus and Devario aequipinnatus.
