This is a small reddish brown armoured catfish with three dark saddles across its back and dark bands on the tail. Scientists named it after Greedo from Star Wars because of its face. It stays small, so it suits a modest community tank with clean, well-oxygenated water.

Breeding

Like other Peckoltia it probably spawns in caves, and the male guards the eggs. There are few or no confirmed captive breeding reports, as the species is rarely seen in the trade.

Good to know

It was only described in 2015 and is rarely exported, so fish sold under this name may be other saddled Peckoltia. Give it caves and a strong current, and keep it away from large, boisterous tankmates.
