Breeding
Pairs lay eggs on a cleaned leaf or other flat surface and the male guards them until they hatch. Spawning has been achieved in soft, acidic water, though it is not often done.
Good to know
Males can squabble over territories near the surface, so provide cover and visual barriers. It is a capable jumper and needs a tight fitting lid.
