Breeding
It is a protogynous hermaphrodite that spawns in the open water, either in groups or as pairs with a dominant male. Captive breeding is rarely achieved because the larvae are tiny and pelagic.
Good to know
It needs plenty of swimming room and a tight lid as it can jump, and it may eat small shrimps, snails and worms. Larger males can harass smaller, timid tankmates.
