Breeding

An egg scatterer that gives no parental care and will eat its own eggs. Spawning in captivity is fairly easy in a separate soft, slightly acidic tank with fine-leaved plants or mesh, removing the adults once eggs are laid.

Good to know

Kept in small numbers it can become skittish, so keep a proper group. It is sometimes confused with other striped rasboras such as Rasbora paviana.
