Blyth's devario is a slim, active danionin that reaches about 8 cm. Like its relatives, it is silvery, with bluish and yellowish horizontal stripes along the flanks. It is rarely sold under this name and little is recorded about it, so it mainly interests devario fans who enjoy fast, hardy shoaling fish for the upper water.

Breeding
It is an egg scatterer that gives no parental care. Breeding is likely to be similar to other devarios: condition the fish well, then give them a spawning tank with fine-leaved plants or mesh. Remove the adults after spawning so they do not eat the eggs.
Good to know
The species is poorly known and is listed as Data Deficient by the IUCN, so fish sold under this name may in fact be D. aequipinnatus or another look-alike devario. It jumps and needs a long tank with a tight lid.
