Breeding
It is an egg scatterer that gives no parental care, so adults will eat the eggs. Captive breeding is rarely reported but should follow the usual small tetra method of soft, acidic water, fine-leaved plants or a spawning mop and removal of the parents.
Good to know
Rarely seen in the trade and easily confused with related Hyphessobrycon species, so care figures are based on similar tetras from the region. Keep it with other small, peaceful fish.
