Breeding
An egg scatterer that lays a few eggs daily over weeks among fine plants or spawning mops. Eggs hatch in about two weeks and the tiny fry need infusoria or green water at first; breeding is fairly easy but adults will eat eggs.
Good to know
Short-lived and sensitive to poor water quality, so keep it in a mature, well-filtered tank. Often confused with Pseudomugil furcatus, which has more yellow in the fins and a different body shape.
