This danio was described in 2015 and belongs to the chain danio group. It is a slim, active fish with dark rings and chain-like markings on a pale body. Hobbyists keep it because it is rare and attractive, and it suits a well-oxygenated stream tank alongside other peaceful fish.

Breeding
It is thought to scatter its eggs over gravel or fine-leaved plants and give no parental care, as other danios do. Captive breeding has rarely been recorded, so the best approach is to use a separate tank with a mesh or marble base to protect the eggs from the adults.
Good to know
So far it is known only from one waterfall pool in Bangladesh, so wild fish are very rarely available and it could be confused with Danio dangila or other chain danios. Keep the tank covered because it jumps, and give it strong water flow and plenty of oxygen.
