Breeding
Like its relatives it is an egg scatterer that gives no parental care, and adults will eat their own eggs. Spawning has rarely been documented in captivity, but a mesh or dense plant cover in a separate tank with conditioned adults is the usual approach for this group.
Good to know
It is seldom exported, and wild-caught fish may be confused with Danio dangila or Danio catenatus, so check identification. Keep a tight lid, as danios are strong jumpers, and give a well-oxygenated tank with gentle flow and plenty of swimming space.
