Breeding
Pairs spawn among fine plants or moss, scattering a few eggs at a time and giving no care to them. Breeding is quite easy in a mature, heavily planted tank, though fry are very small and need infusoria first.
Good to know
It is timid and often hides when kept with boisterous tankmates, and it prefers cooler, hard alkaline water. Males can spar but rarely do harm.
