A fairly large, slim danio with a silvery blue body marked by rows of dark spots and bars and yellowish fins. It is kept for its lively shoaling behaviour and because it is a scarce, interesting species for danio enthusiasts.

Breeding
An egg scatterer that gives no parental care, spawning over fine-leaved plants or mesh in well-oxygenated water. Captive breeding has been done only occasionally, and it is less often bred than common danios.
Good to know
Very active and a strong jumper, so it needs a long tank with a tight lid and good water movement. Rarely seen in the trade and sometimes mixed up with other spotted Danio species.
