Breeding
It is an egg scatterer that spawns over plants or gravel and gives no parental care. Breeding is likely simple in a separate tank with fine-leaved plants or mesh, removing the adults after spawning, though captive reports are few.
Good to know
It jumps well, so use a tight-fitting lid, and it can nip slow fish with long fins. It is listed as Data Deficient by the IUCN and is easy to confuse with other striped Devario species, so check the source of any stock.
