This is a slim, silvery rasbora from northern Sumatra, with a dark stripe running along the side towards the tail. It is an active shoaling fish that is seen only now and then in the trade, so it mostly appeals to rasbora enthusiasts and people who keep fish by where they come from.

Breeding
It scatters its eggs among plants and gives no parental care, and the adults will eat their own eggs. Spawning is probably possible in a separate tank with fine-leaved plants or a spawning mesh, but there are very few records of it breeding in captivity.
Good to know
It is a little-documented species that is only known from the Lake Toba area, so the care figures here come mainly from similar Rasbora species. Keep the lid on the tank, because it can jump.
