Geoffroy's Cory
Corydoras geoffroy
Also known as geoffroy's corydoras, geoffrey's corydora, geoffrey's cory, wolf cory, corydoras octocirrus, octocirrus cory, geoffroyi cory, コリドラス・ジョフロイ, 杰弗鼠鱼

A fairly large, longish-snouted cory with a pale greyish to tan body covered in dark spots and blotches, often forming broken bands along the flanks. It is the type species of the whole Corydoras genus, so specialist catfish keepers prize it for its history as well as its active, sociable shoaling on the substrate.

Breeding
It lays sticky eggs on glass, plants or decor in the typical Corydoras T-position after cool water changes. Captive spawnings are rarely reported, mostly because the fish is seldom available, so breeding it is a challenge for experienced keepers.
Good to know
Rarely exported, and fish sold under this name are often other spotted long-snouted cories, so check identity carefully. Corydoras octocirrus is now treated as a synonym of this species. Use soft sand so the barbels are not damaged.
