A small, light-bodied cory with fine dark speckling and a bold black spot on the tail base. Unlike most of its relatives it often swims in open water as a loose shoal, which makes it a lively choice for peaceful community tanks.

Breeding
It scatters adhesive eggs on glass and plants in the typical cory fashion, often after a cool water change. Captive spawning has been reported but is less common than with the more popular species.
Good to know
Use fine sand or smooth gravel to protect its barbels, and keep it in a proper group because single fish become shy. Sometimes confused with Corydoras hastatus, which has a similar tail spot.
