A fairly large long-snouted cory with a pale silvery body. A dark band runs along the back and upper flank, much like the arched cory but stretched along the body. Keepers like it for its unusual long-nosed look and its calm, sociable habits as it sifts the substrate in groups.

Breeding
It scatters adhesive eggs on glass and plants in the usual cory T-position, often after a cool water change. It is rarely bred in home aquariums, and most fish sold are wild caught.
Good to know
Use soft sand so the long snout and barbels are not damaged. It is often confused with C. arcuatus and long-snouted relatives such as C. sp. CW Super Arcuatus, so check the stock carefully when buying.
