A small armoured catfish with a pale body covered in a dark net-like pattern and a dark blotch on the dorsal fin. It is kept for its busy, sociable behaviour as it sifts the substrate in groups, and it suits planted community tanks.

Breeding
It lays sticky eggs on glass and plants after the typical T-position spawning, often triggered by a cooler water change. Breeding is occasionally achieved in captivity and the fry are raised on microworms and baby brine shrimp.
Good to know
It is very often confused with Corydoras reticulatus, which is near identical but differs in subtle body markings. Use soft sand so the barbels are not damaged.
